Dr. Jennifer Jaramillo

Dr. Jen’s career began as a special education teacher in Albuquerque, NM. She has worked with children from prekindergarten to young adults in post-secondary education. She has extensive experience supporting children with autism, intellectual disabilities, behavior disorders, and other developmental delays. In addition to her teaching, Dr. Jen worked closely with parents, helping them implement behavior and communication strategies at home and in the community to ensure consistency and optimize child outcomes.

Her passion for expanding her impact beyond the classroom led her to pursue a doctoral degree in Special Education with a focus on Early Childhood Studies from the University of Florida. During her studies, Dr. Jen was selected to participate in the Preparing Leaders in Early Childhood Studies and Implementation Science (PLECSIS) program. This prestigious program deepened her expertise in special education, early childhood studies, research methods, and implementation science.

Through her involvement in PLECSIS, Dr. Jen served as a professional development workshop facilitator and coach, helping parents, caregivers, early childhood teachers, and intervention providers implement evidence-based practices with children aged birth to five years. She also worked as a research assistant, where she honed her ability to critically analyze research and data to improve educational strategies.

Drawing from her extensive experience in both teaching and research, Dr. Jen founded The Early Childhood Group to provide accessible, evidence-based support for parents, caregivers, and educators. Her mission is to ensure that every child has access to the strategies and resources necessary to reach their full potential.
